All Out & Happy

My favorite quote was said by Erma Bombeck… “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me!”

Yep… that about sums it up.  That’s all I have to say.

They Did; Can You?

In todays “small business” climate so many people are living the fake it till you make it philosophy that it is often hard to gauge economic reality.  Only secure people can come out from behind their “image” and state the reality of their present position, share ideas and develop strategies to increase production volume and create a higher level of abundance.  comedy-mask-wearable

Today I met with a number of “secure people.”  What a privilege it was!  What progress we all enjoyed as we shared our struggles, our successes, our perceptions, our limiting beliefs, the realities of our current level of business development and the areas we are each working to grow in .

In the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin it is clear this practice of synergistic collaboration was common-place.  It brought about a greater level of success for all who participated.  What is it about our present day society that largely inhibits this type of growth?  Has striving for the “competitive advantage” become a disadvantage?

Secure leaders are able to share their knowledge, experience and strategies because they understand there is room for competition.  Some clients will resonate with their message and some clients will resonate with the message of another.  Secure leaders believe in Abundance.  In their world there really is enough for everyone.  Enough opportunity, enough work and enough money.

Once your level awareness grows to the point where you can “play” in this arena expect great things.  If you are not quite there yet you can aspire to it.  A good trick to start with is to increase your conscious awareness of when you start to feel fear.  Track those times and complete these questions:

1.  I just became fearful when _________.

2.  I felt fearful because ______________.

3.  I have a need for _________________.

Then replace them with:  In the future I will ___________________.

If synergistic collaboration worked for Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Hill and Andrew Carnegie it will work for us!

The Sweetness of Passion

Most people, when they think passion, think romance. I on the other hand think passion stems from another source, a higher source.

Passion is when you care so deeply for something you are willing to suffer for it.

What do you love so much that even if you suffered for it and failed it would have been worth it?

When you can answer that question; you’ve found your passion and probably your life purpose.

There is a voice in my head that says: “How are you going to pull this off? What if things don’t turn out the way you think they will? What makes you think you can do this? You’ve never done this before.” This voice talks to me all the time. So often in fact, I have given it a name. I call him my “inner critic”. I don’t think he means to hurt me.  I believe his intentions are good. He loves me. He doesn’t want to see me get hurt or to fail. He wants to keep me safe.

The problem is, in order for him to do that I have to stay right where I am and not seek progression.  I’ve written a lot about increased awareness. As our awareness increases it is natural to find ourselves in a place of discontent. The reason is that we have grown past what our current reality is providing, therefore it is no longer supporting us in a positive way.  Often our present circumstances become toxic to us.

As I thought of why we stay in this sometimes toxic place of discontent I realize that it is because of our limiting beliefs.  It is because we listen to our inner critic and we begin fear.  The moment we make an agreement with our inner critic to live in that fear, we doom ourselves to our current circumstances and to remaining only what we currently are and we begin to feel imprisoned.

As scary as it is to step in to the unknown, that is exactly what we need to do in order to arrive someplace new. We can’t expect to create a new reality without being willing to leave the old one.

So I listened to my inner critics concerns and then my inner coach said:

“Thank you for your concern.  I can see that you really care about me.  I understand your reservations, but I believe in my abilities.  It is true I have never done this before, but I also had never done that before either and look at the success I created there!  I have no reason to believe that I will not be able to do the same thing in this new venture.  Thank you for your concern but I will not need any further advice.”

In this way, we make an agreement with FAITH instead of FEAR!  As you well know it is impossible for the two of these to co-exist.  When one walks in the other is forced to leave.  It’s scary I know.  But it’s also worth it!

Success List

I am sure you’ve heard it said”  If you want something done give it to a busy person.”  As I continue to conduct my “Productivity Challenge,” I’m finding that to be SO TRUE!  I have defined the reason as:  Work has the tendency to fill the time allotted.

I am more convinced each day of the importance of having a clearly defined list of priorities and time blocking the necessary action items associated with the achievement of the tasks at hand.

Where more is required, more is achieved and that’s the truth!  Do you agree?

Slippers on the Wrong Feet!

2013-01-25 20.14.52This time I really almost bombed!  It’s 11:36 PM and after a wonderful day with family I’m laying tucked in my bed almost asleep when my eyes flew open and I screamed: “OH MY GOSH! I didn’t do my blog today!”  I would have been devastated had I missed a day on only day 25 of my productivity challenge.

So naturally, because my committment is tied to purpose, I stumbled out of bed, slippers on the wrong feet, and into the office to blog!

There is probably not much substance for my readers in my blog tonight but I hope that at least my example will prove worth your effort.
